Your yarn may become twisted with Fission or Woven Kniting. This is how I untwist it.
Several of my designs create a fringe by joining a new yarn at the start of each row. This is my preferred way of managing the tails. The clips are called sewing or quilting clips and can be purchased at sewing stores or online (Amazon).
This is how I manage my fringe if I do not have sewing clips.
